# Harvesting Tips and Tricks
## Essential Guidelines for Harvesting Lettuces, Leafy Greens, and Herbs in Hydroponic Systems

Proper harvesting techniques are essential for maximizing yield and ensuring the quality of produce in hydroponic systems. This article provides guidelines for harvesting various types of crops, including lettuces, leafy greens, and herbs.

#### Harvesting Guidelines
1. **Lettuces**
1. **Harvest Timing:**
1. Lettuces are ready for harvest **after 6 weeks** total.
1. **2 weeks** in the seedling area
2. **4 weeks** in the grow area
2. **Leafy Greens**
1. **Harvest Method:**
1. Leafy greens are classified as ‘cut and come again’ produce.
2. **Harvest Timing:**
1. Ready for a trim (cut and come again) at **5 weeks**.
2. Complete harvest at **7 weeks**.
1. **2 weeks** in the seedling area
2. **5 weeks** in the grow area
3. **Basil**
1. **Harvest Method:**
1. Basil is also a ‘cut and come again’ herb.
2. **Harvest Timing:**
1. Ready to top at **week 5**.
2. ‘Cut and come again’ harvested at **weeks 8 and 10**.
3. Complete harvest at **week 12**.
1. **3 weeks** in the seedling area
2. **9 weeks** in the grow area
4. **Other Herbs**
1. **Harvest Method:**
1. Similar to basil, other herbs are ‘cut and come again’.
2. **Harvest Timing:**
1. Harvest at **weeks 8 and 10**.
2. Complete harvest at **week 12**.

2. **9 weeks** in the grow area
